Living with other people
Living with other people is not always easy. Exam periods leave us more busy and stressed, weekends come when we need peace and quiet, or there are days when we’d like to share what’s happened to us with someone. Having roommates isn’t always easy, but it’s one of the best experiences we can have during our university years.
From the Unihabit student residences, we’re offering you three tips to surprise your roommate—especially on those days when they need it the most!
1. Surprise Dinner
You’ve spent the whole day studying in the library. You won’t get back to your room until 9 p.m., and you have nothing to eat for dinner, but… surprise! Your roommate has prepared a meal for you. You don’t need lots of extras or anything fancy—some bread with tomato, soup, or vegetables is enough to sit and chat for a while and, above all, unwind.
2. Good Morning Post-its
You got up before your roommate and you want to let them know they should run the dishwasher, take out the laundry, or worse—you’re out of milk. There are a thousand ways to leave these kinds of messages. At Unihabit, we suggest a method that, though more traditional, is also more personal: post-its with messages. Leave a note with a smile, a heart, or simply a “good morning.” We all love surprises, and being reminded of things in a unique and original way is one of the best ways to start the day.
3. Photos of Good Times
Being far from home can be hard for many people. Missing your family, friends, or even the park you used to see every day when you left your house can be tough at first. That’s why at Unihabit we suggest a way to surprise your roommate: gift them a picture frame, a canvas… with photos of memories made in Catalonia. There’s nothing better than remembering happy, smiling moments during harder times. A photo is one of the best ways to keep those memories alive.
Sharing is living, and living together is learning. So don’t miss a chance to surprise your roommate whenever you can!
